Doing an Awful Job

Sometimes you just have to try something and embrace the fact that it will look more like a six year old’s best work instead of a middle aged adult’s. I remember hearing a story about a pottery teacher who had two classes. For one, he asked the students to make as many pieces of pottery as possible and the second class he asked to make just one perfect piece. At the end of the course, the students who produced the best pieces were from the class that just had to create a lot. All that failure taught them what works. So this is my ode to throwing spaghetti on the wall: you get to try something new, see what sticks, and have a fun food fight in the meantime.
